Transcript: "Build Exercise into Your Everyday Life"
I've biked since I was a child. My father taught me to bike when I was about seven. But in the last few years my family has gotten more interested in biking. We bike a lot together as a family and just recently I've started biking to work, and I'm really loving it. It builds exercise into my busy day without quite as much extra time as it would take if I went to the gym. And it's a nice way to commute. It uses my commuting time to get some exercise. We've had a beautiful fall and I really enjoy getting outdoors after a hard day's work or first thing in the morning, and it makes me feel healthy.
I've always tried to be physically active. I think I see it as more of a real health responsibility as I get older. I've always liked to do to outdoor activities like hiking and kayaking and I've always liked to be on a bicycle. I feel that all of us have to try hard to build regular exercise into our everyday activities. It's good for so many aspects of our health. As I mentioned already, it's good for our cardiovascular systems, it's good for our muscle strength. It helps guard against injury so it's a really, really important part of keeping oneself healthy.
