13. When should I call my doctor?
It is important to get instructions from your doctor before leaving the hospital and follow them carefully once you get home. Warning signs of infection include fever or chills, tenderness and swelling around the wound, and drainage from the wound. Warning signs of a possible blood clot include tenderness, redness and swelling of your thigh, ankle, calf, or foot. You should call your doctor if you experience any of these symptoms.
