Frequently Asked Questions
6. Why is follow-up care important?
Follow-up care is important to help prevent or detect other types of cancer and to address problems related to cancer treatment. At these visits, the doctor will look for signs that the cancer is recurring or has spread to other parts of the body. Follow-up visits also enable healthcare providers to identify and address changes in your health. Importantly, these visits provide the opportunity for survivors to learn what they can be doing to remain healthy.
